LA Times: Enthusiastic Crowds Greets Premier at Sundance of New Documentary on LInsanity

posted by Randall

LinsanityJudging from the cheers from audiences at Sundance to Evan Jackson Leong’s new documentary Linsanity, the director should have no problem finding a distributor.  The LA Times described it as “one of the most crowd-pleasing documentaries to play the festival this year.”

The film goes back to Lin’s childhood and takes you up all the way through the height of Linsanity in New York. Leong had incredible access to Lin as he set out to do this documentary when the point guard was still playing at Harvard.  The guarded Lin opened up to Leong in many candid moments. At one point, Lin even commented “How am I supposed to play if everyone is looking at me expecting me to make a miraculous play every time I touch the basketball?”

“It was a project of passion,” said Leong after the screening. “We had no money. Nobody cared about our project before February of last year,”
