NY Times: Michelle Obama Wears Gown From Designer Jason Wu

Designer Jason Wu made a command performance at the Inaugural Ball tonight, well at least his design did.

Once again, Michelle Obama wore a Jason Wu. It’s a name that became instantly famous when the First Lady chose a design by a then little known designer in 2009.  The New York Times reports she wore a Wu again.

The Times described the gown this way. “The dress was persimmon-colored with cross-halter straps and a loose fit similar to the ivory one-shouldered gown she wore in 2009.”

Wu as you might imagine was thrilled. “It is a big surprise. The White House kept me pretty clueless until five minutes ago. I’m still floating”
