NBC New York: Asians Being Targeted In NY Elevator Robberies

Police in New York are warning Asian Americans to be on the lookout for thugs who may try to rob them in the elevator, reports NBC New York.

The incidents happened during the last week. In each case the victim was followed into the elevator, beaten in the face and then robbed. Each of the victims had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police released images from fuzzy surveillance video. The suspect is described as between 25 to 35 years old, 200 to 240 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. Anyone with any information is asked to call 800-577-TIPS
