Longtime Chinese American activist and leader Rolland Lowe has launched a new foundation set up specifically to help fund non-profits serving the Chinese American community, reports the Epoch Times
The Chinese American Community Foundation hopes to attract the support of wealthy Chinese American philanthropists.
“There is a constant flow of immigrants that come into the community. And each wave of new immigrants have different needs, not just because they are poor but also because of a language barrier,” Lowe said.
Buck Gee, the former CEO of Cisco, will serve as the Foundation’s treasurer.
“I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. I felt that I was lucky,” Gee said. “My goal was to help make other people lucky too.”
