Aerogram: Alice in Arabia–victory or missed opportunity?

Farah KhanA blog post by Farah Khan (pictured, photo by Yasmeen Warsi Photography) in Aerogram expressed some disappointment that Alice in Arabia was abruptly cancelled.

The pilot for the ABC Family Channel found itself getting much unwanted publicity from people outraged by the show’s stereotypical premise.

ABC pulled the plug on the pilot after a draft script was leaked by Buzzfeed further fueled the fires.

Khan agreed with many concerns about the program, but she was also uplifted by the discussion taking place on Twitter and the attention it brought to the images that are pervasive in the media about Muslim Americans.

She wanted to see those discussions lead to a further dialogue, and I presume, further understanding about Muslim Americans.

Read her post in Aerogram and let us know if you share her disappointment.
