Michelle Yeoh will reprise her role as female warrior Yu Shu Lien for the prequel of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, reports the BBC
Filming is expected to start in July on the new film titled The Green Destiny and will be shot in both China and New Zealand.
The original was released in 2000 and still is the most successful Chinese language film of all time making $213.5 million.
The prequel has been delayed by a legal fight over rights for the film.
