Julie Chen shared a secret on her show The Talk that she had never let out before in public.
She told a national television audience her grandfather was a polygamist, reports US Magazine.
Chen said she has never met her grandfather and also said her mother kept the secret from her for many years.
“My grandfather was a polygamist,” Chen said as the audience gasped in response. “He had nine wives, six of whom bore him children. He had 11 children that we know of, countless mistresses… I never met my grandfather… all I knew growing up was that he grew up dirt poor. Dirt poor.”
Chen said she received her mother’s permission before sharing this secret. She also said her grandfather wasn’t the only one in the family to be a polygamist.
