Director Justin Lin of Fast & Furious fame is one of five people mentioned to be in the running to direct Star Trek 3, reports Cosmic Book News.
The position became available after Roberto Orci reportedly stepped down, although he’ll stay on as a producer.
The release of Star Trek 3 in 2016 is set to coincide with the franchise’s 50th anniversary.
Other reportedly in the running include Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Morten Tyldum, Daniel Espinosa, Justin Lin and Duncan Jones (Warcraft).
