Rafu Shimpo: Saying Goodbye to Two Long-running Asian American TV Characters

Aziz AnsariTwo long time television characters played by Asian Americans have made their final performances in first run episodes, reports Guy Aoki in Rafu Shimpo.

After 7 seasons, both The Mentalist on CBS and Parks and Recreation on NBC have wrapped up their final seasons. Actors Tim Kang and Aziz Ansari were a big part of both shows.

Kang played agent Kimball Cho, a no nonsense by the book character. He even had a brief love interest on the program.

Ansari played the ‘out there’ character Tom Haverford.  His performance on Parks and Rec helped Ansari build a loyal fan base.
