A doctor accused of prescribing addictive drugs without medical purpose has been indicted on three murder counts in Clayton County near Atlanta, reports WSB-TV.
Dr. Narendra Nagareddy also faces 59 other counts of drug related charges.
Survivors of those who died reacted to the indictment.
“I think that it’s been long overdue with the doctor,” said Ruth Carr whose daughter Audrey died of an overdose. “I knew he was doing (it) with people other (than) my daughter and I knew she wasn’t the only one.”
“The doctor in the ER flat out told me that her liver was just completely shot from years of pain medication, and come to (find) out, he was the one giving her pain medicine,” said Mike Jones whose wife died in 2013 .
