An email made public by an anti-bullying group describes in detail the pain experienced by a Fairfield School District student in Ohio that ended in her death.

The timeline outlined in the email coincides with the death of Emilie Olsen, an adopted Chinese American girl who committed suicide after her parents say she endured years of bullying. The names in the email were redacted.

The email from the parent of the girl’s boyfriend was sent to the school district in May 2015, six months after Emilie committed suicide, and was released on a Facebook page entitled Shame on Fairfield City Schools.

The parent says her son began dating the girl in April 2014.  She wrote:

“My son and daughter ( a 7th grader) would tell me how mean the kids were to (redacted). They would trip her as she walked down the aisle to her seat, call her names, write on the bathroom walls. There was an incident reported where one of (redacted) teachers bullying her. She pulled her out of class and asked her if she had any friends, she said no, he said I can see why, it’s your own fault.”

In the lawsuit filed by Emilie’s parents against the school district, they allege school officials continually ignored their pleas for help and concerns about the bullying.

In a recent Facebook post, an anti-bullying group wrote:

“The dishonest people running Fairfield City Schools seem to believe they can just say “it’s not true” about the factually supported allegations in the Emilie Olsen case. It’s what the district did in it’s official response to the lawsuit. They literally said “we deny” the allegations a few hundred times over and over again.

“In fact, we’ve proven with district e-mails many of the claims in the Olsen lawsuit to be irrefutably true.

“They did the same in response to this damning e-mail from a parent in May 2015 after the story broke from the I-Team that Fairfield was lying through it’s teeth about Emilie’s case. A parent lays out the facts, and all the district can do is stomp its feet and say it didn’t happen.

“Fairfield says you’re wrong, we’re wrong, the documents are wrong, and the media is full of lies. So what is the truth? Tell us, Fairfield. Enlighten us.

“How can anyone take this school district seriously?”

The school district has also repeatedly declined to comment to the media, saying it could not comment on an issue being litigated in court.
