Movie Pilot reports there has never been an Asian American who’s won an Oscar for acting.

Three actors from Asia have taken home the gold statue: Ben Kingsley for Gandhi in 1982, Hain Ngor for The Killing Fields in 1984 and Miyoshi Umeki in Sayonara in 1957.

Jackie Chan is set to accept an honorary Oscar in February.
